Leighton Meester in suit
Have I ever mentioned that Leighton Meester is one of my inspirations of fashion? Look at her! I love her in suit. I seldom see her looks like this, though. I thought she only wore girly classy dresses so this is kind of a surprise for me. I hope one day I can carry a suit like her.
What do you think?
Btw, we are sooooo sorry that we haven't been updating this blog since... I've already forgotten when lol It's really busy in our lives so we're gonna try our very best to see you here. Anyway, we owe you an apology.

Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show
’Wow!’ is the reaction that I first saw the photos from the show. It’s so creative! Ladies are gonna love all the pieces but I wonder where we can wear them to lol
Every outfits have their own themes and the designers are great to express the feelings. I love colourful lately so I particularly chose some photos to post here. Especially Katy Perry’s ones! I love ‘em! The vivid yellow one is cute, with little red and violet hearts on it, so funny, huh? The blue and purple one reminds me a song of Katy Perry’s, Firework. It’s like sparks on the dress and so witty and delightful.
I found the pictures on MTV.com, do you think it's kinda weird? lol I personally am weird actually. haha It’s hard to choose the favourite one from the show, how about you?

Fashion Illustrations
Hey I wonder if you guys love ART? Here’s an exhibition that we wanna recommend you to see if you live in London. If you’re not, it’s okay, just check out some art pieces on the internet. I’m quite sure that you like ‘em!
It’s in he Mayor Gallery, 22A, Cork Street, The Fashion Illustration Gallery. The current exhibition that is introduced is from the fashion illustrator Rene Gruau that we’ve seen some of his drawings on famous magazine like Vogue and Harpers Bazaar and so on as well as some of his sketches for awesome designers.
For me, I think the works are kinda like in a vintage style, which is great, I love the sense of vintage. Besides, I love the colors he used, created an intense atmosphere for the pictures. Brilliant!

Interview with Gabrielle Cosention the Uptown Girl
First thing, sorry guys! We have been really busy lately so we just uploaded some blog entries. We will try our best to get the scoop for you guys! Haha. Another apology for Gabrielle, which is a great fashion blogger that we’re gonna talk about today. She owns the fashion blog Uptown Girl and she’s one of the girls that was selected by TeenVogue.com for being a best-dressed-today. It’s a honour that we invited Gabrielle to do an online interview with us! She has been so nice and we love her soooo much!
Background Information
Name: Gabrielle Cosentino
Hometown: Montreal, Canada
Age: 22
Date of Birth: 7th June
Blog: http://theuptowngirlblog.blogspot.com/
TR: Teen Ribbon GC: Gabrielle

TR: What does fashion mean to you?
GC: know it sounds beyond cliché, but I truly find fashion to be the ultimate form of self-expression.
TR: Who's your fashion inspiration?
I am profoundly influenced by models and their street-style -- as well as celebrities such as Olivia Palermo, who I believe has impeccable style. I will perpetually be fascinated by US Marie-Claire magazine’s style and accessories director Taylor Tomasi Hill's eye for casually glamorous styling. Street style blogs are also a huge inspiration -- sometimes real people's style is more inspirational than the latest fashion editorial.
TR: Who's your favorite designer/brand?
GC: Alexander Wang -- I practically live in Wang's tee’s and sweaters! I am positively enamored with Chanel. Oh and I'm absolutely mad for Isabel Marant's Parisian chic!
TR: Please talk about the F/W must-have-items.
GC: I loved Michael Kors’s fall/winter collection; they’re pieces I can actually see myself reaching for everyday wear. I'm also loving the whole menswear-inspired look, huge sweaters, ankle or knee socks with wedge booties, faux fur vest or coats and I am dying to try the dramatic skirts look, but I'm just not sure I can pull it off.
TR: What do you think a teenager should dress like?
GC: I feel a teenager should be trend-conscious, yet still age appropriate. When you’re a teenager you don’t have to be afraid of wearing something crazy as long as you love it -- you can throw almost anything on and make it look effortlessly fabulous. Just has long as it’s in a respectable and age appropriate way. For example with element of classic chic thrown into the mix.
So umm, do you think you get something from Gabrielle? We do!

Leighton Meester on UK Marie Claire December 2010
The Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester, which is a singer at the meantime, is the covergirl of UK Marie Claire December issue. The first thing that I wanna say is I LOVE HER HAIR! I remember she gave Teen Vogue tips about hair care. How can her hair be so smooth like the stylists' favourite? oh my! She can be rock and she can be elegant. In the photoshoot we can see it clearly. http://www.marieclaire.co.uk Don't hesitate to check it out!

Book recommendation – The Teen Vogue Handbook
If you love fashion, I think you read magazines a lot. Teen Vogue is definitely one of the best magazine includes fashion, beauty, health, popstars and teen issues. Do you read it? It’s actually my favourite magazine! The other reason that I love it so much is about its website. I can always browse latest information of teen fashion. Not to mention about the great editor, style bloggers and great journalists inside. The ideas are not difficult to understand even you’re not familiar with fashion or you’re just a beginner. Actually, us, S & J, are beginners too. We learn from reading magazines and blogs, and express our point of views here. I just wanna tell you the importance of reading lots of magazines and blogs.
Back to the topic for today, I wanna talk about The Teen Vogue Handbook. I knew this book months ago, but I still had to do some researches about it before I typed here. So, I found out why Amy Astley wanted to publish this book. She said youngsters asked her questions about entering the fashion industry. Then she finally realized she had to do this book. It’s kinda like a map rather than a book. It tells young people how to prepare for the industry. No matter you wanna become a designer, a model, a journalist, a fashion critic or a photographer, well-prepare is always the successful key. It’s a guide that lead you to the fashion industry.
So, I believe this book is in stock in many countries, you don’t have to worry if you can’t see it in bookstores. If you really can’t find it, just order it from amazon.com. I’m gonna go get one after seeing the preview of it. Let some professionals to guide you to success! Haha.

Alexa Chung - Louis Vuitton Beauty
Alexa Chung is always fashion lovers’ idol and role model. Her father is a half-Chinese-plus-half-English. Her body is smaller like typical Chinese than common Brits while she has the charming characteristics of a Brit, too.
She was spotted wearing a dress of Louis Vuitton Resort 2011 Collection and holding a bag of the Sofia Coppola for Louis Vuitton Collection. She added a lovely grey sweater onto the dress so it looked different but even prettier and more fashionable, in my opinion. I love the simple leather bags of Sofia Coppola for Louis Vuitton Collection actually, simple but classy, as I mentioned that I personally love simple things so much. I want to talk about that collection but I seriously don’t have much time so I can only skip that. The photoshoot of Sofia Coppola is awesome, too. But I guess we teenagers are not suitable for leather goods. I think using or wearing leather goods is like wearing high heels, it contains some life experiences.
